New Review and New Downloads - 7:06 PM - Tempest

I have added a new review to the Digital and Analog Dragon section called "Dragon Half". It is based on a series of small comic books of the same name. As usual, I hope you appreciate.

Also, I have stumbled on a mod about a year ago enabling you to play Rynn (Drakan - Order of the Flame) as an humanoid dragon. New "skins" are in themselves not anything exceptional but this one is done remarkably well for a game of this age.

Major code update accross the site - 12:00 to 19:00 PM - Tempest

Where to start...
The update modified the line spacing to nearly all section to section to 1.5, the text is now justified (if you use Mozilla or Firefox. MIE 6 doesn't support this feature but MIE 7 should). The site should now display better for people using a monitor resolution other than 1024x768.
For the "Dragon: Everything you wanted to know" section, the code was changed so the menu on the left should will no longer hide the text.
For the "Dragons Legends" section, I have added a 50% shading behind the text that should make it a lot easier to read: example
For the "Modern Dragons" section, the background is now fixed, dragon of the future image is now brighter, the text has a 50% shade to make it easier to read.
For the "Updates" and "FAQ" section: removed a lot of unnecessary code.
And many other code fixes and small corrections here and there.

I have added another review in Digital and Analog Section about a movie called "The Flight of Dragons". It one of those movie I have heard a lot of but never saw it until now. It's worth seeing and I hope you enjoy the review.

Code update in the Digital and Analog Section - 10:57 PM - Tempest

I have corrected *several* minor bugs the html code of the Review section. If you use a resolution of 1024x768, those bugs were not very visible. For any other resoltuion, the problems were more apparent.

New Review: Puff the Magic Dragon - 7:20 PM - Tempest

I have added a review in Digital and Analog Section on a short cartoon called "Puff the magic dragon". It wasn't easy to get a copy of this cartoon, and honestly it more unexpected than anything else that I did find one. At any rate, I hope you like it.

New Sub-section in the Artistic Section - 6:52 PM - Tempest

With the democratization of digital camera, I think the time is rip for having a new sub section in the artistic section. As everyone know, advertisement can sometime be an art in itself, so I have added graphic and description for a new section about the dragons in the media (this include any form of advertising and company logo.

If any of you fall on something just email it to me. Please include the country of origin and translation of what the ads is displaying if it isn't in English.

Minor Update - Artistic Section - 2:25 PM - Tempest
The content bar of the Artistic Section and the Review Section was redone using Photoshop: it is slightly bigger and has a much better color gradient (png instead of 256 color gif). It's not something huge but this was bugging me for some time. I have also made a bit of cleanup in the html code of this section as well.

Coppermine Update - 2:35 PM - Tempest
I have updatedthe program used to handle the Artistic section to Coppermine v1.4.3, this should fix a few of the small glitches people have been reported.

Dragons in the Media - 4:00 PM - Tempest
I stumbled on an advertisement panel on the street and since digital camera are becomming very common these day, it gave me an idea for a new artistic section. The section will be about dragons related arts used in media and commercial promotions. So you can send me any picture of dragons used to promote a product or a service and include a description, the company/product name and the country of origin where the picture was taken. You should also include a translation if the language displayed is something else than English.

Arts Section Update - 7:32 PM - Tempest
So far Coppernmine is indeed a lot more stable and a lot easier to manage than Gallery. I really like the way Coppermine manage the pictures and the comments in the drawings section. Therefore, I've decided to migrate the Arts section here as well. Expect an update of the website link to redirect you to the selected section.

Gallery Crash (again) - xx:xx PM - Tempest
The gallery has been reinstalled (again), the program called "Gallery v1.5" was unable to handle the large amount of comments made by the viewers. During the last week the gallery has been completely down displaying only a blank page. It was difficult but I was able to take a copy of all comments and more importantly I was able to salvage a copy of the files information (author, date received, description, ect).
I also looked around for a better program to handle the images and comments and I have stumbled on Coppermine. Coppermine use a mySQL database and it is something definitively more suited to handle the kind of work of the drawing section. I will re-upload around 20 drawings per day until the gallery is completely restored; the process will be much quicker than the last time since I just have to copy/paste the information. In hope that this program will do better. If you encounter *any* problem or if you feel that something doesn't work properly, just contact me (my email address is plastered all around the website).

Message Board tranfer to phpBB - xx:xx PM - Tempest
At 2:04 PM on May 31th, 2005. Ez board suffered an Internet attack wiping the majority of the board they were hosting. As the Ez Board staffs are still trying to restore this message board, the move to the new forums takes effect immediately. Please register.

Gallery Crash - 11:30 PM - Tempest
The program used to handle the image in the drawing section crashed. It seems that the high amount of comments may be to blame since the gallery is a bit used like a message board / chat channel lately. I have reinstalled the gallery and used v1.5, hopefully, this version will probably be more stable than the last one.
Also, I have managed to keep a copy of the comments but there is no way I can restore them in the new version of the gallery. Also I wasn't able recoved each picture information (authors, date received, etc.), this mean I will have to manually re-upload every picture and dig back the file information from my emails. I will be long but I will be able to make sure each picture was credited with the right author (many person have send me drawings named "dragon.jpg" and at some point I think there was one or two drawings that were either overwritten or credited to the wrong person when I updated the gallery). Also, I will be able to add a description when an author provided one (in the very first html version of this section, there was no space to add that). I may take a few weeks before the process is completed, so I will ask you to be patient while I restore this section to it former glory.

Message Board tranfer to phpBB - 3:26 PM - Tempest
I will move the Message Board to dragnix by using phpBB. There is many glitches with EzBoard and it will soon be time to renew my account with them and I don't see the point when I can use my own database to host the board.

Gallery Update - 11:51 PM - Tempest
There was some glitches with the program I am using to display the images in the artistic section. The gallery has some trouble to load properly and sometime only displayed a blank page. After looking into the problem, I found that there was several thousands dummy files (photodat.xxxx) in the album folder. I cleaned up the folder and unpdated the gallery to v1.4.6. The section seems to working fine now.

Role Playing Section Update - 10:13 PM - Tempest
I have updated the Warriors/Rogues/Priests/Wizards character sheet to v3.8, it's probably the last update I am making on those sheets for a long time since I don't see anything else to add to them. At this moment, I have no plan to do 3rd edition sheets since it's a completely different system and I am not really familiar with this edition.
