So...

*broken record*

When are the moderator elections coming up? Cause I can run now, and General and Dragon Discussions still don't have moderators.

I'll run :D

Just have a group called Moderators, and put everyone who actually bothers to post on it. Provided they've been on the forum long enough.

OOpps, well I havent seen that film, it looks good, but when I said that on another forum, about a hundred different people came on and said no its not, ahwell, Ill stick with Underworld Rise of the Lycans being the best newest film....

:hijacked:

Watchmen was rated R for a reason... gratuitous violence, three explicit sex scenes, scattered swearing bouts, Dr. Manhattan walking around naked for several scenes... other than that, it was an excellent movie.

DragonRider: That would make too many mod but I can promote current ones (which doesn't make many since Silver-Orbs and Dragyness are currently MIA) to Global moderators... This kind of mod can warn and ban people whereas local mods can't. I think it would have made more sense if local mods could also warn and ban people from their individual forums as well but it's not an option at this moment.

It also seems that phpBB 3 has some four different "ranks" for mods. I will have to play with these features a little more before enlisting people in the Board Staff...

Wow, I feel like a kid who just found his dad's Ak-47. So many buttons, and on everyone's posts.

Thanks, Tempest. Yall know I am normaly fair, and if not I will walk off and cool off before I do anything rash.

Now time to test out some of the buttons.

I'm sure this thread was/should be in Moderators and Admins...

GPerhaps two Mods per forum, in case one of them leaves?

Ask and it shall be done.

hmm or maybe we should have some sort of system that makes it to where people who don't visit the sight after so long get deranked or something. After all why should people who haven't shown up in years, and we don't even know if they are coming back still be mods? They can't exactly help the sight if they don't at least look over it from time to time after all.

I have to point this out: the group Local Moderators says you require the invitation of a group leader to jojn. I looked in it's membership... not even a group leader is there

Catch-22... I think Tempest, as admin, can invite people in without being a member.

Post subject:  Re: All things in moderation

Groups can be "Open" (you can join and leave by yourself), "Request" (you send a request and a group leader has to let you in), or "Closed" (a group leader must invite you first).

Mods and Admins groups are closed. And yes, admins do not need to be "group leader" to manage a group, pretty much in the same way that I don't need to be part of the "Regular users" group to not be subjected to the flood limit.
