Roll playing has been around for generations. The first I can really thing of is the Dungeons and dragons game that I'm sure all your parents could tell you about if you haven't played it yourself. It is the game that really turned Rping into an art form. We'll just be going though some basic exercises to improve on the skills we already have as rpers. First up we'll be playing a game called question and answer. This is to remind us that the base of rping is to respond to others actions. Although all the juicy parts you add to a post are fun sometimes it's good to remember not to get too far ahead of ourselves. here's an example of how we are going to play the first game. player one: Bob:bob walks up to sally and waves to her in greeting. "hi Sal, what's popp'en?" Player two: Sally: " Sally smiles and replies "very good! How about you bob?" and so on. you are only allowed to react no character plots or stories should be added. I'll go first to start the game. Mary Alice walks into the room and smiles at the crowd around her. "Hiya all! I'm Mary Alice, but you may call me M.A. What's everyone up to on this fine day?" |

Jaksen (same as jackson) turned to face Mary Alice as she introduced herself. "Hey, nice to meet ya! I'm Jaksen," he replied, extending a hand to her. |

Mary nodded her head and continued to smile politely. "Nice to meet you too, Jaksen!" She replies and happily accepts his hand with her own, as she look over at the other people in the room waiting for a reply from them as well. |

Mary gave a nod to john and spun around happily. Responding to the characters around you is a good way to work on your character's development. It builds personality and even story plot at times. Since after a while you'd run out of things to respond to, it's also crucial that you give your game mates something to respond to in return. Now that we've all gotten to know each other, let's move onto the questions bit while still working on responding to others. Remember don't say, do, think, or tell about anything other than what you are responding to or asking. just ask the person you've decided to respond to a question of your choice, while making sure not to make it too complicated. While also responding to any body language or question they may give in return. I'll go first as an example. "So, um boys, where are you two handsome things from?" Mary asked in a rather flirty manner. |

OOC: lol just remember that Bob is a psychopathic priest that thinks that if anyone uses magic in ways that would seem demonic or has power that seems demonic would find themselves lying on a bed being exercised. Next, continue to play along with the same rules as before. Only this time try to add a mention of a physical trait as well as subtle as you can. Body language is a good way to show off physical traits and it also adds to a character's personality as well. while you won't need to continue to describe what your character looks like though out an entire game. It's good to know how to play a description into your work without going though a long dawn out list of details. Mary giggled and twirled a piece of her long blond hair around her index finger. "I'm from Evensdale. It's a small town out in the middle of nowhere. I'm sure you've never heard of it. Jacksen, I'm wondering, what's it like where you live?" She questions him while bashfully swaying back and forth. |

Not caring about how Jackson and john met, Alex Looking at his stainless steel necklace as though it was made of gold and walked up to Michael. no, no, no you've broken the rules drakes. anything in brackets () is consider out of character, if you want to add something to your character then you will need to do it while in character while within the story, no side notes,ect. As stated before please leave ooc in the ooc section as you were directed. And no i'm not just harping on you I noticed the ooc talk before then, and I let it slide, however in order to make a point about how serious this really is i will be pointing it out from now on. Also you did not give a physical trait as was asked. please edit or rewrite to include the corrections, thank you. |
