The world has been torn asunder by war. Two nations vie for power across the world of Saril. Elves, men, even the dwarves have come out of their holes to participate in the battles which will decide the fate of the world. The 2 nations, Taelir and Manril, are evenly matched, yet Taelir has taken the upper hand. This has pushed Manril to a small portion of a continent. Throughout the war, the deciding factor with each battle was neither tactics nor location... Instead, that honor went to relatively small group of people: the Beastia. The Beastia aren't a race unto themselves. They are members of the other 3 races who've formed a pact with an animal. The human/elf/dwarf receives a change from his animal partner. This makes them superior to their normal counterparts. Recently, Manril has found a group of Beastia who evaded the draft by hiding in the forests and mountains now heavily patrolled thanks to the war. Out of Manril's desperation an option was placed before them: serve honorably or die as a coward. Thus, the tables were turned... Ok, here's the drill: you are Beastia. You were once normal, but you made a pact with an animal. Why? That's up to you. When the pact was sealed, you could hear your animal partner's thoughts, and soon you were changed. It may be a physical change (growing wings, a tail, etc.), it could be just a sensory change (improved hearing, sense of smell, etc.), or a mix of the two. This change is connected to the animal you partnered with. Partner with a monkey, you might get a similar tail, or you might get his flexibility, or you could wind up with both. As a Beastia, you have been enlisted (willingly or not) in the army of Manril. The Manrilian government has created a special unit (you) to infiltrate enemy territory, get to the capital, and eliminate the opposing heads of state. You will be heralded as heros upon your return. So, basically, you have to sneak your way through an entire kingdom, with occasional fights, get into the capitol, and kill the man who started this war and refuses to let it end. |
