I've suggested this before on the board, but not I believe in it's own thread. Chinese myths suggest wingless Dragons that have the ability to fly...? I'm thinking, they saw a "flying" snake and it inspired tales of flying serpents, which over time mutated into tales of what we would call a Dragon.
