It's quite an easy one to get... it can't be anything like love, since it's not the "greatest nightmare" for most people.

Close enough - I was actually thinking of death.

It's mankinds deepest desire, to flee the confines of the body and sink into oblivion, but it's also their greatest nightmare. Everyone knows what it is, and yet it's nigh impossible to define.
