YOu could always just break the leg...then the pain is no longer in the head....the leg on the other hand, would not be my problem

Especially the head. I never really liked how the chickens would show off their lack of head before dying...i always thought it crude humor.... and then i realized that i did the same thing to my shadow when she wouldnt fit in the box and kept bumping her head.

There once was a chicken with its head cut off which lived for two years after and then chocked to death. On it's food-tube.

Actually it is. When they decapitated the poor bird, they cut too high and most of his brain stem survived. The bloody bits healed and he lived in need of intense care from his owners since he didn't have a head, and that makes it hard to get by. I don't know if it's the tube itself he choked on or the food they gave him, but I do know that he totally survived getting his head cut off.
