Greeting board citizens, At 2:04 PM on May 31th, 2005. Ez board suffered an Internet attack forcing us to relocate here. This move was already been planned and I was still playing with the idea to extend or not the Gold community. Its seems that hard decisions these day are taken by themselves and this board become the official message board of the website. We have lost a year worth of thread and I'm the first one to be upset about it but until Ez Board make an officially announcement, you should periodically check back at the old board to see if anything has reappeared. In a conservative scenario, we would get back everything except the posts made in May 2005. Now unto the foward looking part: this new message board. I would still like to gather comments, opinions, the kind of mods, add-on, color for the new board during the next few weeks. Also, since this board is independent of all the other board around, there is very little limitation of the nickname you can take. You can chose the nick you want and not necessarily keep the one you used on Ez Board. As a matter of courtesy to the other persons that will also be moving from the old board, we would like you to (re)-introduce yourself in the Introduction forum and tell us a bit about yourself. The information you want to share is up to you, but you should tell us a bit more elaborate that just a "hello, I'm new!". In closing, I would like to reassure you that backups of the board database will be made every week and stored an offline backup drive. Also, these backups will not be overwritten each week, therefore in the event a carefully planned attack would be made during the backup procedure, we would be able to fall back to one of the backups of the previous weeks. All this to say that the incident that happened with Ez Board will not occur under my watch. Finally, we are still spending a great deal of time trying to fix things around on both board and your patience would be greatly appreciate while we restore the message boards to its normal stability. If you have any suggestions or inquiries, please post it next to this message. Thanks you, Tempest The Administration |
