I don't know how much you guys play either pen and paper RPG's or more classic board games but I have recently got into them.
So any good/memorable experiences with them?

Personally the only RPG I play currently is DnD 4th edition. Though I'd like to get into Call Of Cthulu and possibly some other systems if I can find out enough about them. Which reminds me, has anyone played Werewolf: The Apocalypse and enjoyed it?

In terms of board-games, I have recently really enjoyed playing Ascension: Chronicles of the Godslayer. Similar game recommendations would be appreciated here too :)

Me and my friends typically play with pen and paper. We prefer 3.5 DnD to 4 by like, alot. Whatever floats your boat though.

Yeah I've heard that a lot, but apparently 3.5 is much more complex so as there are a few newbs, we are playing 4th ed :P

I enjoy playing 3.5 and 4th ed. DnD. Though my memorable experience is in 3.5.

We had a kobold who had high intelligence but low wisdom. He would do the most random things that would some how work to his advantage. Like in the last session we had, he showed a vampire a mirrow that only shows reflections of vampires. The vampire goes insane and kills everybody. The kobold through a curse had a 5-10% chance of turning into the undead. This of course happens to the dismay of the DM who promptly revives the were-ferret the (now) female dwarf had sold to the village of kobolds who ate it. The were-ferret of course decimate our undead kobold. This is just one of the many times that player foiled the DM's plans through shear (um.. what's the word I'm looking for here) stupidity/luck.

In some ways I prefer 4th ed. and in other ways I prefer 3.5. Both can be fun depending on how the group plays.

The only "classic" board game I've played recently is chess. Though I do enjoy playing backgammon and every now and then Go.

I recommend Maid. I enjoyed the one time I played this RPG.

Yall are making me feel old again. I still play 2nd at times, but mainly 3.5e. 4th seems ok, but I have yet to play it out yet. I have put in some time to most any game I can get my hands or get into.
Short list
Star Wars
Warhammer
Warhammer 40K
Vampire: The Masquerade
Shadowrun
Modern d20
SpellJammer
And a few others I can't really remember the name for.

But my best experience was when 3rd first came out. We had a 20 person party playing for 2 sessions. Everyone wanted to play the game but nobody wanted to DM.

As for board games, I'll play most any.
