I want to know what are the strengths, weaknesses, and other important facts about different creature. first up vampires

i am not sure if this is actal, they are copres that prey on the life forms of the living. they can sometime be a person who die unhappy. in some courties thet make for the dead so they rest peacefully and becom vampires. wacky right?

Strengths: Enhancements to speed, strength, stamina. High resilience to most forms of physical attack. Very long lifespan, extensive knowledge, experience, and wisdom.
Weaknesses: Exposure to silver, running water, light (extent varies), holy artifacts (including holy water, the Sacred Wafer, crucifixes, church grounds), the wild rose, hawthorn.
Important Facts: To be considered extremely dangerous. Feeds off either the blood or life-force of human and animal victims. More data required.

oh they are! ever heard of something called a ghoul? they are much worse then vampires! they only suck your life-force, ghoul drink your blood and eat your flesh (rather you're dead or alive doesn't matter to them.)

Vampires are true Un-Dead, as Bram Stoker put it. The modern concept of undead is actually reanimated dead. Subtle yet important difference.

vampires as must would have them are either of the race of vampire or are infected with a kind of viral thing that is recived from getting bitten by a vampire or an infected vampire.

The infected version of a vampire is an undead which I guess would be about the same as a walking corps I'm not sure. They have been killed by a vampire and the virus placed inside them from being bitten brings them back to life kinda, but only if they have had the blood of the vampire who'd bitten them given to them. The virus makes them sensitive to sunlight, holy water, and dog wood. (which is were the whole wooden stake thing comes from) I was also going to say that they might be weaken by a silver bullet, but I do believe that's werwolves not vampires.

The race however is different in the sense that they are born not created, and are not undead as they never died. They are stronger than viral vampires, and are not as harshly bothered by holy water or sunlight. They are however still effected by dog wood.

Nether one ages, but the viral vampires will slowly become feral if their master does not continue to feed them blood, or they don't feed for too long of a time.

There's a lot i could go into on the subject but I really don't have the time to do so right now as I'm borrowing the net from a friend and do not yet have the net at my own home. I do hope to have the net again soon though, so wish me luck on that.

thank you all i now realise that i should have done one topic for each species i have questions about so i appologise. now continue talking about vampires but could some one tell me what the word griffon truely means. you know like vampire means blood monster and werewolf is wolf man, is there a word source for griffin?

i think i means "bird-lion". that is my opinion. i am not sure. getting ready for school. have to more research later.

Fact's about vampires - they require the blood of the living, and are more resilient than baseline humans, which gives them a long lifespan, probably via regeneration. That's all I can speculate on with the current knowledge, and the only thing that seems to be similar in all the tales.

Though not much help on the meaning of the name a lot of info on Medieval Bestiary for it.

Looks like the name really has no meaning.

OHHH.. lol the only reason I didn't post was because I didn't really know ALOT about vampires (kinda thought you wanted MAJOR details instead of the stuff we all know lol) If I knew that it was all about the logical stuff I would have been here a long time ago lol.

werewolves are normal humans that turn into a half wolf and half human every night. their first trace formation is ONLY on the full moon. they are very hard to kill for their wounds heal yet for some reason the wounds don't heal when being harmed by ANY silver until the silver is out of them. They could die in three ways.

1) decapitation (cut off their head and they die)
2) silver weapons (VERY weak to silver)
3) kill them in the day for that is when they are 100% human.

And when they die, they revert to human form. Also, if you put a silver necklace on them, it can prevent the change.

There is the fact that we are still on werewo;ves, and the fact that from the way you described it timat might be to specific for this topic, this is the vague names. Oh and i want to say this, if anyone wants to say some thing else you have two options.

1) PM me the details i am always ready for more info on the mythical creatures

2)just state the creature you are talking aboutin the post.

On the twenty seventh i will change the topic again, probably to griffins

1) The myth and folklore of the creatures.

or

2) What some people think may have caused the above myth and folklore.

or

3) both.

Because werewolfs are full of all of that. Some really great stuff for that as well.

Werewolves... if you're looking for hard fact, the most you can get is Lycanthropy coupled with the wearing of animal skins. Which is probably enough to explain the legends.

OK what i am looking for is anythinng and everything. If you have information on a creature then this is the place to put it. Later on when i have run out of vague creatures to ask about i will start to compile all the information together and post it into a topic titled mythical creature manual and all will have a reference for the creatures they are looking for.

Oh great, be prepared for a long post from vamp on how werewolves actually originated from a drunk seeing a bunch of really hairy, drooling Vikings with wolf hats. :roll:

Werewolves, or Homo Canis, are a subset of humans infected with a viral substance that causes the following:

Increased hair length- absurdly so
Nails grown out to extraordinary lengths - biologically tied to hair growth BTW
Growth of several facial bones, distorting appearance
Loss of sanity/memory
Increased cellular regeneration

Said virus would also react strongly with silver atoms, possibly being destroyed in the long run.

Well more towards people tripping out on a fungus called ergot. I will grow on rye seeds and can cause a number of different effects somewhat like LSD. Though the animal skin people may have helped spark the myths. But also somewhat like the ergot there was a salve that a witch could make that turned you into a werewolf. This may have been somewhat of the same thing, a strong drug causing people to see or think they are seeing or becoming werewolves.

But more or less I would pull some more info from these sites. I like the howstuffworks.com one.

OK so not sure if this is necromancing but sence the entire thing is meant to constanly expand as we go through topics i do not think it is. So any way next topic is one i really do not have any idea about so here it is

Might as well count demons into it as well. Some of them are seen as winged humans.
