No dictionary for me, but if I happen to have the money, I'm definitely going to go see it.

Looks like a movie a little too well made for the aftermaket video game market in mind. I may wait for DVD sales to see it.

Closer to a quarter of a billion, actually, from what they've released.

Well, I'm going to see it tommorow. Hopefully.

It's quite good, but the characters, like all, make stupid mistakes.

I was really skeptical on how this movie would turn out. I watched it tonight at an IMAX Theater, and I must say it was the most fantastic movie I have ever seen.

The visual effects of the film blew my once creative and thoughtful mind out of the water. I was completely submerged in this imaginary world. I caught myself wanting to reach out and touch the plant life and the surreal surroundings of Pandora. I am not easily impressed, but this movie opened my closed mind and revitalized my creative juices and drive to write.

I recommend it with every fiber of the being that I am!

Ditto! I didn't have the joy of seeing it in IMAX, though. But I am so in love with that movie, if time would have allowed, I would have turned around and watched the next showing of it.

I have still yet to see it. I really ought to see in on a big screen, for the pure sake that it would look better that way. But maybe watching it on dvd would force me to watch it for pure the story.

The visual aspects really bring the complete experience together, but the story is outstanding. I would recommend seeing it on the big screen, but you will still be entertained if you get the dvd.

Believe me, that is not what you want to do. The storyline is very much a bit-part player in this film. I loved it but the story was a bit cliche.
As a friend of mine stated it looks a bit like a technical demo, for what could be done but just a showcase really. Kind of like the demonstration movies Oddworld Inhabitants released around their games.

Nevertheless I really enjoyed the film and it really didnt seem as long as it is because it is fantastically immersive.

You may have just talked me out of watching it. I am one of those people who don't like to watch a movie for the pure sake that it "looks cool".

that's a shame that you decide one way or another about a movie based on one persons opinion. Someone you've never met even.
If you decide to not see it, then you've missed out on, what is frankly, a bit of a movie revolution. This film has paved the way for 3d technology being used by other films coming up this year. and the visuals are simply draw dropping.

Normally I would agree wholeheartedly, however once in a while its good to let yourself become involved in a purely visual fiesta. Approach it as you would a display of some kind rather than as a story or a book. Its definitely worth the price of a movie ticket to see.

Ya know, I just had to laugh when I saw how bad this lost at the Oscars. It only got the "you made a pretty movie" awards.

It's a good movie... I mean, something with a total gross of more than 2.6 billions dollars can't really be bad. Of course, the visual effects are stunning (the movie will make sure to show you plenty of these) and the world of Pandora is rather well conceived. As for the story, well, it's a movie, not a book, so basically there are some obvious inconsistencies and in general the story is not very complicated and doesn't contain anything really unexpected. In other words, someone could easily guess how it will end after watching the first 30 min. But then again, there are not a lot of movies that have managed to impress me in that regard.

It's a movie worth watching because it will definitively set set a new standard for future movies. Will I buy the DVD? Maybe... If it drop below $20.

My main problem is I am a bit of a movie tech-a-phobe. I was the same way (and still am) with the Matrix movies. I would rather wait five years when this movie is in the $5 bin at Wal-Mart, and they are able to put a good story to the tech for a really good movie. What bothers me the most is Cameron is a much better writer than this. He more or less just rewrote Fern Gully to make this movie. But who knows maybe the next movie will be better.

Five years?.... really?... I am not really a "patient person" so I shouldn't be talking but.... FIVE YEARS???..... You could actually wait that long?

In my opinion the movie is worth watching now ASAP!

Well count the number of years The Matrix has been out, and I have yet to watch any of them. (well that is kind of a lie, I watched about 30 min of the first one and got sick of it) And everyone was saying you have to watch that.

And the five years thing was saying how long it will take until they come out with a good movie using the technoloigy used in Avatar. And that movie will blow Avatar out of the water. So just wait so when the well written movie comes out, and then you will have a movie you must watch.
