Dragon Dreams

i dream a dream of dragons
beautiful and vicious
the majesty of their nature
such splendor in their appearance
such danger in their ferocity

i dream a dream of dragons
gargantuous in size
honor-bound to kill the avaricious knight
protecting their beds of gold
or the many treasures they have hoarded

i dream a dream of dragons
the royal court of the skies
unchallenged by their feathered cousins
protectors of the stars
and keepers of the clouds

i dream a dream of dragons
fire-breathing giants
explosive jets of flame
a swift incineration
a valiant and roasted thane
i dream a dream of dragons
a sweet and gorgeous legend
imaginary creatures
fiends or demons in their time
Oh how noble a creature

i wish it were not a dream of mine
