the message board is another extension of dragnix where people gather and rp or post art or chat about dragons or anything they like

at the bottom of the page with list of arts section, drawing section, stories, junk like that, there should be a link that says main page. click it. it'll take you to the home page where there's a link that says message board

The code behind the message board is better suited to handle very large amount of posts, while the gallery well... I stated a few times that I was a bit surprised on how well the gallery has managed to not crash after so many comments (more than 115,000 and counting).

Also to post links use the "URL" tag [ url ] something.com/something [ /url ] (without the spaces)

yeah. i recall it didn't start booming until the old group (sundance, malchios, talus, mia, draco, kojack, etc) started getting blogs. then we got loads of newbies which scared away the oldies who left to deviantart and are sending in even more newbies not to mention the ones that show up randomly.

@Tempest: I'm guessing the amount of comments was behind the evilness of Dragnix breaking down a while back??? @Makla: You have returned from the dead or the old peoples!!!!! *bow* I am very glad to meet you Makla! *holds out hand* I found out that in a few months I shall have officially been on here for one year! ^_^ If you have never met me, you've missed a lot!!! LOL!

@Jenu: Officially, the gallery crashed 3 times (ie. losing all comments and having to reconstruct the pictures index). The major downtime in June was more related to a server issue than the comment themselves. However, I suspect that most error 1040 may be related to the number of comments too (they will eventually be split over multiple pages to improve the situation).

Personally, I would like to see the RPing moved to the Message Board as this would improve the picture-comments / casual-chat ratio a bit.

I signed up on the message boards but havent recieved the confirmation e-mail yet. It that expected? Anyway, you guys have any idea how amusing I found this little gathering? this website literally seems to turn adults into kids, jeeze^^

@Jenu: The message board has many resemblances to the gallery but on the board, every story has its own thread (I am often puzzled about how people here manages to keep track of all the comments) and RPing and OOC are on two different forums. The "Role Playing" forum is used for the actual RPing, it's okay to include a few ooc remarks/precisions within a post as long as it’s short and doesn't lead to a long debate, while the "Out of Character" forum is used to post the setting, the characters sheet, the acceptable level of skills (low level campaign vs heroic-mode) and other background information. So when starting a story, one thread is posted on the RP forum and another with the same name, is posted in the OOC forum. So if an issue occur during a session, it can be solved in the OOC forum and not disrupt the actual RPing.

As for using the gallery or the board, it is actually quite simple to incorporate the Board RPing here. For example, instead of saying "let RP on picture XYZ", it is entirely possible to create a thread on the board and then say "let RP on on [ url ] Link1 [ /url ]", OOC here: [ url ] Link2 [ /url ].

My $0.02 (that happen to worth a lot more these days).

@Tempest: Ok, I'll check it out again. As to how peeps keep track of conversations here...we don't!! LOL! Actually, we do, sorta. If there is an rp or an important conversation going on on one of the pics, we remember what pic it is, and sort keep coming back to it. If one pic is being commented on a LOT in the past hour or so, we check that out, and at least for me, I always check out new uploads. I shall try however, to look into this message board and get my totally uncomprehending head around the idea that a whole second dragnix exists....
